This is the classic tale as I remember it. I also enjoy Valeri Gorbachev's illustrations. Alena likes it too.

A classic story about a family of bears who leave their house to go strolling through the woods when a young girl come across their house and goes inside for a little look. When inside the house, she finds some porridge to eat, some chairs to sit in, and some beds to nap in. Goldilocks is on the lookout for something that's "just right" and doesn't stop snooping around the house until she finds it. This book could be used within the classroom when trying to teach students about folktales. I would also just keep this book on the shelf as it is a classic book in which a lot of readers enjoy. Looking back at the book now that I'm older, while I find the story itself kind of enjoyable for readers, I am not very impressed with the unclear moral of the story and the ending. In order to make the book better, I would suggest having an ending other than the girl simply running away from her problems. Other than this though, this book would be good to have in the classroom for beginning readers as it has easy words and nice illustrations to match the text.
