Eighteen-year-old Olivia Morrison ran away to marry a man her family didn't approve of nine years ago. Now she has returned with her young daughter to claim her place in the family. But things have changed since she left. When her Step-grandfather sees her, he collapses with a heart attack. Her step-cousin, Seth Archer, isn't happy that she is back. The only person with open arms is her Aunt Callie, the woman who begged her to return. As soon as she is back, Olivia begins having nightmares about her mother's mysterious death. Was her mother's death a suicide?...or was she murdered? I usually enjoy Karen Robards' romantic suspense stories, but I found this one very slow. There is a lot of description of the lavish home and grounds that I thought slowed the pace of the book to a crawl. There is a romance, but it takes a long time to heat up. The book is light on suspense and the villain was very easy to pick out. My rating: 3 Stars.

This is a reread, although I don't remember the plot exactly. Must have read it BG (before Goodreads). Which is great for a reread. All the character and the places seem familiar but I have no idea who the baddie is. This book is everything a great romantic-suspense should be. It has great tension between the H/h, a plot that keeps you guessing until the very end and really hot sex scenes. Olivia has returned to the LaAngelle plantation she left at 18 in a snit against Seth, a step-cousin, and Big John her step-grandfather, who at 87 has a heart attack at seeing her again. Olivia and her 8 year old daughter, Sara, have been invited to return by Seth's mother, Callie, who is facing cancer treatment and has decided that Olivia and the Archer family need to kiss and make-up. Seth and Olivia have a real love-hate thing going that is really intriguing as he is now engaged. There is a real nasty who had been killing young girls for 30 years. Who he is and how he is related is something that the layers of this plot will revel in due time. One thing I know, Seth and Olivia have some very hot, intense unfinished business to attend to.
