Review # 1 was written on 2017-10-05 00:00:00 Malynda Kerwood The kind of psychology practised in this book is rather more abstract than what I'm used to and seems more like philosophy to me, not that that's automatically a bad thing. There are lots of schemata everywhere. At first, it seemed like a very interesting discussion of free will, consciousness and the self, but I soon found it difficult to focus on and follow what was going on. For some reason, the very beginning had lots of clumsy and weird language and errors, but that got better for most of the rest of the book. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-10-29 00:00:00 Cor Enfa I teach an intro to Psychology course, and am now using the 8th edition of the book. The author does a superb job at explaining the science behind the findings, and does make the material accessible to students. |
