Review # 1 was written on 2013-05-26 00:00:00 Nicole Civerolo This is a well-written autobiography by a celebrated UK jazz writer and photographer. As a jazz aficionado I was fascinated with the author's relationships (not all sexual!) with leading jazz musicians. However, for me the book was too polemical. Her strong left-wing views and adherence to radical feminism were repeated throughout the work. And this detracted somewhat from the remainder. But with that a rider, I found the book to be enjoyable, and informative about the jazz world.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-10-20 00:00:00 Gail Steinbruegge Some good history of the development of jazz, the important players, how jazz progressed over the years, etc. Also listed quite a few of the important recordings, many of which landed on my want list.
