Review # 1 was written on 2017-08-01 00:00:00 John Kingsley I feel like I should maybe give this book more than three stars. It was incredibly well researched offering a wealth of information. I picked it up expecting a conversational tone about the history of political thought and economics that has lead the Midwest to where we are today--still looking for an explanation of how we have allowed today's political climate to grow and fester. Instead it is the sort of resource useful to scholars of political thought. It would be a great asset if you are studying political science, but was less geared for a summer read which was my angle. |
Review # 2 was written on 2007-03-14 00:00:00 Alexander Drutsa It is difficult to know what words are the author's and where they are the sources he has used. This makes it hard to know whether the author himself holds pseudoarchaeological views (the 'Moundbuilders' and Native Americans being different people, for instance). |
