Review # 1 was written on 2019-07-29 00:00:00 Johnny Bochamp Dinner at My Place is a lovely cookbook containing precisely the sorts of recipes we love to get from accomplished chefs--that is, the meals (and cocktails!) they serve when folks gather at their home. That said, I am making the summer squash risotto with crispy fried sage and parmesan for dinner and the Bourbon Peach Cobbler for dessert tonight, and have tabbed the watermelon nectar with lime salt (a tequila blanco-based beverage); the savoy, lime, and cilantro coleslaw; beet cakes with sweet Greek yogurt; and Mexican pot roast tacos for inclusion in food prep rotation over the next several weeks. This book is everything that home cooks look for in a cookbook: the recipes are explained well, contain a range of options to accommodate vegetarian and omnivore alike (albeit heavier on the carnivore end of the spectrum), and the book is well illustrated. Well done, Chef (and Chef's staff, food testers, and editors)!
