Review # 1 was written on 2007-11-08 00:00:00 Willis Dickmann This novel, a fictional account of the life of a child growing up in Hollywood near the beginning of the film industry, was definitely readable. Some parts were funny, interesting, etc. But by the end I found myself wondering if there was a point to the whole story. Then I read the author bio. It seems that it was a thinly veiled autobiography and the author was using it as a tool of therapy to feel better about the way her parents screwed her up. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-02-10 00:00:00 Brian Giles I enjoyed the descriptions of old Hollywood houses and hilly roads, and I could picture scenes as I drove around in certain areas of my new city. And while the story kept me going to the end, it was not much of a page turner. I do love how the chapters are ordered by Fleur De's nannies. |
