A poem from a little brother's POV as his big sister tells him all about growing up and about being black - something to be proud of. I like the poem itself, and the feel of the rhythm to it. One of those poems that's meant to be read aloud and put to movement or music (storytime shakers?). I like the feel to the pictures - the art style itself, I think - but the actual images are a bit dated in their clothes and hairstyles. Hard to compete with newer books coming out with more vibrant pictures and more relatable scenes, but still that same sense of pride.

Great children's poem.
