Review # 1 was written on 2020-11-24 00:00:00 Michael Brendan Walsh A poem from a little brother's POV as his big sister tells him all about growing up and about being black - something to be proud of. I like the poem itself, and the feel of the rhythm to it. One of those poems that's meant to be read aloud and put to movement or music (storytime shakers?). I like the feel to the pictures - the art style itself, I think - but the actual images are a bit dated in their clothes and hairstyles. Hard to compete with newer books coming out with more vibrant pictures and more relatable scenes, but still that same sense of pride. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-04-06 00:00:00 Frank Kolbasowski Great children's poem. |
