Not that it is poorly written - it is a scholarly look at Pilgrimages that are undertaken in different parts of the world and for different religions. The Epilogue is in my opinion the best part of the book - and I did not find it necessary to have read the proceeding chapters in order to understand and capture internally the point the authors were trying to make - the connection of these pilgrimages of people and customs to our modern worlds and the importance of this. But if you are looking for poetic word play - this work is not it. Only suggested for the scholar - not necessarily the searcher. |
