Review # 2 was written on 2012-12-11 00:00:00 Tommy Pitts This book has the feel of a simple poem as it leads a child from smaller to larger with beautiful accompanying illustrations by Hans Poppel that make the transitions easy to see. A child will be able to see themself within this book as they consider clouds and cats and dogs which will make it easier for them to follow along. Since there is more of a progression than a story to this book, it makes more sense for the emerging reader who is still learning to recognize words. A slightly older reader would probably be quickly bored with this book since while there is a slight story in the pictures, it is more a way to teach vocabulary. |
