Higher skills (1931~1934) " Henry Kissinger discovered that Zhou was "one of the two or three most impressive figures" he had ever seen, calling him "gentle, very patient, extremely intelligent and agile." Hammarskjöld said Zhou is "the best person I have ever seen in the field of foreign politics." "In the eyes of French Foreign Minister E. Manac, this Chinese prime minister is "a perfect man. " Throughout Premier Zhou Enlai's life, their country and the nation's independence and liberation spared no efforts in dying of spirit, not so that future generations do not feel admiration. Especially when he became the prime minister, he still maintained a arduous and simple style, and an open and tolerant attitude, and did not eliminate the power of dissident attachment, it is even more commendable. " Unlike other boys, he seems to know what he wants to learn and why. He insists on reading history and political science books extensively at home. Once, the principal asked the students why they wanted to study and what they got These are common answers: "Reading for the glorious lintel," or "In order to find a good job. Only Zhou replied : "For the rise of China. " " " Zhou's life style is simple." During the last two years of school in Nankai Middle School, I didn't get help from home. I live on a scholarship, which I got as the best student in my class. " " " Because of his good-looking perimeter, high-pitched voice, as well as his great charm and calmness, he is obviously a candidate for this kind of role. Because Zhou Zhiyuan played once, and then he formed a habit: he always played a female role. , played in the "doll family" in Na pull, also in "a dollar", "ages", "Village being" in play a more earthy female roles. week performances received high praise, and proud when The play "One Yuan" caused a huge sensation when it was transferred from Nankai to Beijing in 1915. He even received letters of admiration for playing a female role. He was so handsome that he might become a movie star , Using his acting skills and interests to make him develop in that direction. " " During all these mental work, Zhou did not neglect his body. He often got up early in the morning for a run and did some physical exercises after class. According to records, he once won third place in the high jump event, a basketball class. The captain of the team also represented his class in volleyball matches. However, he was never qualified for a five-mile long-distance race. " " In the reviews of graduates in 1917, Zhou was ranked first in the school's liberal arts examinations, and even ranked among the best in science, with excellent mathematics and able to form his own opinions outside of class. His calligraphy was also praised. He graduated on June 26, 1917, with an average score of 89.72 points. " " Like usual, Zhou Enlai feel powerless, Wu said to his old friend - that once protected him in high school big man Northeast appeared in front of him to help him Wu has been married, at the moment enjoying Chinese government scholarships. studying in Japan is full of warm feelings of friendship to persuade Wu and another three other students studying in Japan with him a week each month to contribute $ 10 - accounting for one fifth of the income of each of them a scholarship . " People should devote themselves to cultivating good interpersonal relationships, which helps to get help from friends when they are in trouble. Although when we make friends, we don't go with the purpose of hoping that they will reciprocate in the future. But no one will not encounter difficulties in his life. When you are in good times, think about what happens when you are in adversity, and we will probably be able to treat others better. " In the spring of 1919, Zhou was ready to return to China, hoping to join the domestic struggle that his motherland had begun. At the beginning of the festival-like season when the cherry blossoms bloomed for the first time, Zhou went to two famous parks in Kyoto and wrote He wrote four extraordinary poems full of emotions. These poems were written in free form, not the ancient poem form Zhou used to write poems in his early years. He has never expressed his feelings so openly, and he has never written them again. It's like a poem from the outside. " On July 17 , my college when students went to Japan graduation trip , will be in the lofty ( cuó ) Mindanao ( é ) wild to see the park up a carved poem Zhou Enlai monument , then I have not read The biography of Zhou Enlai was quite surprised to see his poems in a Japanese park . "A few years later, Zhou insisted: "Nankai University did not regard me as its student because my name was not included in the alumni register. "However, according to records, he entered the university on September 25, 1919. The freshman form found recently proved that the form included his name. What is certain is that, as before, he rarely studied in Tianjin. Homework, just treat the university as a temporary residence. " " When Zhou was in Nankai Middle School, Tianjin had the most sought-after girl. She was the daughter of a rich man. She was extremely beautiful. Zhou had known her a long time ago. Her father and brother loved Zhou Enlai's talents and advocated treating her daughter (Sister) married Zhou Enlai. They revealed this to Zhou Enlai, but Zhou Enlai did not agree. His consideration was that the other party was both rich and powerful, and his family was poor and he would be controlled by others in the future. " " Nankai University's school manager Yan Fansun used to be willing to betroth his daughter to Zhou. Zhou Wanyan declined. At this time, he still gave Zhou US$500 to support Zhou to study abroad, because Zhou regarded his personal affairs very coldly. It is actively considering studying in France. " Zhou Enlai also received help from many people during his growth. Who's growth process can not require someone else's aid hand? Conversely , when we later time have the ability, is not it also should give others help it? Goodwill it is so in a generation generations passed on humans. " Chinese patriotic youths who are eager for modernization seize every opportunity to go to Europe, especially to France. They believe that France is the freest and most prosperous country of all European countries, and the franc is in a period of weakness. 1919-1920 , More than 1,600 Chinese students came to France, many of them later became leaders of the Chinese Communist Party, such as Deng Xiaoping, Li Fuchun, Li Lisan and Chen Yi. " Until today, 100 years later, there is still a good interaction between China and France , and there are many joint programs in our university with French universities. Thinking about the help that France provided to the United States in the early days of the founding of the United States, and the Statue of Liberty as a gift, I can't help but feel that , among European countries, France seems to be a relatively more friendly country to other countries. " A passenger on the same ship recalled that along the way, the students talked enthusiastically about their personal ambitions-one student said he "want to study architecture in the UK," and others wanted to study mining, while Zhou Enlai said he wanted to change China. Society. " Aspirations and results are not always equated. Just like people who are determined to complete a marathon, they don’t always finish . But in life, you have to set yourself a lifelong goal worth striving for. Some people take house and savings as their life goals. It's okay, but these two types of people are ultimately difficult to get together because of the different pursuits in life. In the past 100 years, the international status of the Chinese people in the eyes of nationals of other countries and nations , has been a promise big improvement. This kind of promotion did not fall from the sky, but it was in the past 100 years that countless people with lofty ideals have traded their youth and even their lives. In the next 100 years, how our children and grandchildren will be viewed by other countries and nations will depend on what our generations do. "After returning to Paris, Zhou Enlai led a very simple life. He brought a wooden mushroom-shaped thing from China to fill his socks. He also brought a steam stove to boil water and soak some water. The bread is eaten with cabbage or other vegetables. " " The Communist Party of China was founded in Shanghai in July 1921. It took some time for this news to reach Paris. Zhou Enlai informed friends in China about the status of most of the members of the Enlightenment Society in France, and said that after long-term exploration and discussion In the end, he also chose communism. He added: "Just after October 1921, we made a formal decision. " " " No matter what concerns Zhou Enlai had at the beginning, he has now devoted himself to the life-long career of fighting for communism without reservation. The death of his close comrade-in-arms cleared the fog of doubt. He gritted his teeth and accepted a foreign creed. The reason is that this doctrine is at least progressive in spirit and humane in content. In the next fifty years, although there were sometimes setbacks, he did devote his life to this cause and never wavered. " " The leaders of the Chinese Communist Party who survived studying in Europe in their youth, almost everyone supported Zhou in his political career, such as Chen Yi, Li Fuchun, Cai Chang, etc. Even after experiencing the "Cultural Revolution" in the 1960s After the turmoil, although these people did not communicate as closely as other groups, the so-called "French Gang" still played an influential role within the Chinese Communist Party. " " In June 1924, Sun Yat-sen officially founded the Whampoa Military Academy, which is the new base of the Chinese revolutionary army. The power in the school is in charge of Sun Yat-sen’s military deputy Chiang Kai-shek. As we know now, he does not love the Communist Party. In this way, Zhou Enlai is still appointed as the director of the school’s political department. " " The first called for the East levy move to the week provides an opportunity to show their skills. Guangdong warlord Chen, if not conquer him, can not be a secure base in Guangdong republican form of government. In 1925, after two large The battle was declared over. The two regiments of the Whampoa Military Academy participated in the first battle. At that time, Zhou Enlai accompanied the army to the front as a senior political official, and he was responsible for mobilizing local farmers to support the battle. Zhou Enlai’s auxiliary leadership was only 3,000 people. The small army drove Chen Jiongming's forces out of Guangdong Province in less than May. " " That determined "little rebel" Deng Yingchao broke into Zhou's life. This was their first meeting since Zhou went to France more than four years ago. She came down from Tianjin as a representative of the Nationalist Congress. In this separation of political life, Deng appeared to be better than Zhou . But their personal lives would not be separated. Within a few days, they married quietly and silently. At the time, Zhou was 27 and Deng was 21. " " They abandoned the formal etiquette, just in front of many friends, announced their "eight mutual", that is, "mutual love, mutual respect, mutual assistance, mutual encouragement, mutual business, mutual understanding, mutual trust, mutual knowledge." Facts It proved that they kept their promises to each other. Their marriage proved to be the most successful, loyal, long-lasting, and most convincing marriage in the life of a Chinese couple. It was one of two communist revolutionaries with similar backgrounds and ideas. The life union between. " " It was at this time that Mrs. Zhou's pregnancy aborted in Guangdong. This was their first child, a girl. This was also the last time they had a child. Due to the needs of the revolution , when they were married, they The fate of China is closely linked to the Chinese revolution. " " On March 21st, Chiang Kai-shek drove his troops equipped with machine gun weapons to the vicinity of Shanghai. On April 12th, the troops fanned through the workers' residence. The Communist pickets were attacked. The Kuomintang and the secret society have made an agreement. These associations are gangs of gangsters, and they really control Shanghai in many ways. At this time, they happily attacked the union leaders. At noon, the workers were armed in a rush to fight, but they were chased by machine gun fire. Jiang wanted to kill him in one fell swoop Threatening Communist Party. So a bloody suppression began. 5000 Communists were brutally killed. An eyewitness said: "The head is rolling, like a mature plum, full of gaps. Exhausted executioners waving machetes, Raab fans who look to the side look for fanning them. " "

I found this book in a used bookstore and figured I could take a chance for a dollar. The author assumes that you know much more than I did about world events, politics and Chinese history. Many events and terms that are not familiar to me were not explained, so some of the book was hard for me to follow. I did, however, add a few more bricks to my understanding of the Great Wall.
