So while spending a lot of time home during the 2020 lost year and cooking at home a lot, we decided it was time to review what cookbooks were on the shelves. It was time to see if there was something we wanted to make out of these books, or if they were unjustly taking up space and energy from better books. If we couldn't see ourselves using the books, then we determined whether or not we would want to pass these along to someone who might. The answer to these questions here were solidly "NO." It's a decent size and format for a bathroom reader, but the size and shape make it inconvenient to store along with the other books. It's not a good form factor to go along with the nonfiction, nor does it work with the cookbooks. The layout is not structured for legibility with brown text on grey, brown text on pink, white text on grey topped off with a wildly varying font selection that does not complement the poor legibility. It's almost as if they want to hide the words. Words should not be an afterthought when crafting a book. While there are pictures, these are printed in light pink on pink, or light grey on grey, or light brown on brown, these are clearly enhancement illustrations and accents, not the main focus of the book. I don't know who this is for and I don't know why it is the way it is. If you really want to read this, I'd recommend the ebook version so it's plain text.

Even if it had been satire this is a very poorly written elitist book that's just a bunch of lists of expensive things to buy. Not my kind of 'foodie'.
