Review # 1 was written on 2017-09-08 00:00:00 Janet Griebel Basically of book full of very traditional motifs which the reader could use for various projects. The cover art work gives an idea of the scope of designs presented and the traditional style. Almost all are floral with a few foliage, oriental, and geometric designs. Each plate is described by a very short paragraph below stating the plants included and some background. The book is organized in chapters; Plants and Flowers, Borders and Bouquets, Folk Art, and lastly Chinoiserie. An index is provided. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-03-29 00:00:00 John Bennett This is a lovely catalogue to accompany the exhibition of the same name at the V&A. It includes a provocative essay by Glenn Adamson, and interviews with the six artists. |
