This was an excellent way to be introduced to the basics of programming. It's clear, concise, and doesn't assume anything.

The content and presentation are okay. However, if you're trying to jump into programming on your own, I'd recommend that you find a language that's appropriate for the kind of work you want to do and start with a book that introduces you to that actual programming language. If you don't know exactly what you want to do, I'd recommend something like Hello, World! Computer Programming for Kids and Other Beginners by Warren and Carter Sande. Even if you're not a kid, it presents the concepts clearly and simply with a very "hands-on" approach. There's just no substitute for learning programming concepts by actually doing some programming.
