Review # 2 was written on 2016-10-18 00:00:00 Krista Kroon Wells' original is pretty dense, with the aim being exploring his musings on the implications of new nineteenth century understandings of the world. This re-telling is surprisingly effective at remaining faithful to Wells' intentions and propositions, while also generating pace in the story. This proved very effective as a book to read to Year 6 and the class responded as a whole. I would look to other 'Real Reads' re-tellings given the strength of this one.
