This is a gorgeous book that clearly demonstrates the beauty of our native plants. There is also a lot of information on our native plants, the environs where they thrive, and garden design. All that said, the book focuses particularly on large estate plantings making this feel more like a sales brochure than a book to aid the average gardener. If you like pretty photos, this book is for you. But if you are an average gardener with limited acreage, time, and resources, who is looking for ideas, you might be put off and should probably look elsewhere.

Certainly inspiring but we'll be growing more for food consumption and may have to include non-native plants to the region. However, I do plant to have a native wildflower garden.
