I like this book because it is very informative but the book is kind of a long read. I think this book would be useful for a research project that the student has to o or if the student wants to know more. The illustration in this book is good they weren't drawn out they were printed out. I gave this book a 3 star because I wouldn't read it to children if we weren't learning about rain forest. The book doesn't have any creativity.

This non-fiction eye wonder read is all about the rain forest and the creatures who live in it. In the beginning, this book explains there are five layers of the forest and that each animal has its own special layer. Most of the pages highlight the region that the animal presented lives in. Many monkeys and birds live in the Emergent layer. Snakes live in the Understory. This book contains facts about animal behaviors, plant species, nocturnal animals, and camouflage. I thought this book was vivid with bright photography and descriptive with its words. I liked it a lot. The many captions give details about animals and their behaviors. My favorite page is the one titled "In the Treetops" because it has interesting facts about monkeys and a beautiful blue butterfly. I would use this book to help students learn about animals or habitats. The glossary in the back would be great for vocabulary words! Students could use this book to gather information for a project.
