Review # 1 was written on 2012-02-13 00:00:00 Barney Watson What is it that makes one book a star and another lost in the universe? Sometimes I'm just not sure, but whatever it is, this book just didn't have it for me and students. Maybe more illustrations? Maybe illustrations that connected better with the text? More interesting text? I don't know. The information presented is a good, factual overview of the disaster at Pompeii, but other resources (videos on YouTube and the book "Pompeii... Buried Alive!") were more engaging. Not a bad book, just not a great one. Merely "okay".

Review # 2 was written on 2011-04-09 00:00:00 Pranav Desai Interesting book about the city of Pompeii, how the buried city was discovered, and the history of the excavation. Many good photos and illustrations. A great book for kids, or to read aloud together.
