Review # 1 was written on 2019-10-31 00:00:00 William Gregory I think it is amazing book. It is so simple and at the same time It gives a huge amount of knowledge not only about general FEM but about Absolute Nodal Coordinate Formulation wich has a lot of advantages over old finite element. If you read it after Lai, Krempl, Ruben Intro to continuum mechanics you won't have any problems to understand it from the beginning up to the end. I wish you a reading with pleasure about serious things and many thanks to the author of this book for new knowledges and pleasure from reading. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-11-28 00:00:00 Wendy Templeton The subtitle is a bit overstated. It really should read "where geometry meets mechanical design." The primary emphasis is on design principles that make for successful fabrication - the sorts of lovely insights that are rapidly being lost in our brave new world of CAD and 3D printing. The authors' approach is to start with idealized problems and then show how interesting they become with just a layer or two of realism. |
