In my opinion, if you can withstand the first two chapters of this book, the story is quite enjoyable. The pitiable heroine has to please her newly rich father by adopting a superficial and morally reckless lifestyle to fit in this class change when, in fact, she happens to be very introverted and "old fashioned." Here comes the hero, who himself personally upholds very conservative gender specific ideals, yet he pursues the heroine wanting a one night stand type of an experience mistaking her to be tramp, morally. As a man who keeps two faces, one as a dignified honurable marquis and the other as a liscentous lecher the H had double standards for sure. The hero is too sly and manipulating while the heroine is portrayed as a constant victim. The kidnapping of the heroine came as a surprise and the episode at his secret island was creepy and adventurous, it was fun to read from here on especially when he finally brings her to his villa where his sister and grandmother are waiting for them. The ending was dramatic and I enjoyed the interaction/chemistry between the leads.
