Purtroppo è rimasto assai poco della tradizione di questi popoli, spazzata via dall'arrivo degli europei. Molti miti però sembrano simili ai nostri: il sole, la luna e il fuoco; la necessità di ripetere certe azioni un numero rituale di volte prima di ottenere il guadagno sperato (di solito 4); l'agricoltura e i tabù. Quello che si discosta da noi è invece il modo in cui vengono visti gli animali, che sono "persone" a tutti gli effetti con loro usanze e credenze e qualità.
