Review # 1 was written on 2017-10-10 00:00:00 Robert Lerum I've been learning a lot this year about communism, socialism, and left-wing politics and history. Now that we have conclusive proof that liberalism has failed at making a better world, now that their greatest paragon couldn't even beat a reality-TV show dumbass in a presidential election, I've decided to try learning more about socialism and the genuine alternatives it can offer. This book, made of essays from different authors on different subjects, provides a great intro to the main points of Marx's thinking on topics ranging from religion and science to feminism and gender and, of course, the essential contradictions of capitalism. Also does a great job of distinguishing Marx's actual philosophies from their various (sometimes catastrophic) interpretations over the years. Recommended if you're interested in any of this stuff.
