Perfect training on counter-example forming, and also good attempt in telling readers that mathematics is not merely computation and getting numerical answers. What took me by surprise however is that this book require rather complete knowledge of one-variable calculus, since we need to know Darboux' theorem and also different types of discontinuities. Nonetheless, excellent book. Other subjects may benefit as well, especially subfield of mathematics that is more visual, if more of such counter-example driven books are written to supplement understanding of conventional texts.

It was fine. Nothing to write home about, but basically everything I know about calculus came from this book. The accompanying material in MyMathLab was super helpful and I really appreciated it. The book itself was less helpful than those problems, but it was good enough to make up for the strange circumstances of taking a math class during the pandemic.
