Review # 2 was written on 2017-04-09 00:00:00 Martin Andersson Probably the best book ever written providing an overall analysis of the major works and ideas of the enlightenment...as well as a chronology of the period and the limitations of 18th Century enlightenment thought. Many books and authors are discussed and the biggest asset of this book is that if you've read all the books discussed...it adds excellent insight..and if you haven't read ANY of the books...it explains the overall concepts and provides a reading list. So whether you've read many of the major works of the enlightenment or none of them...this is an absolutely indispensable book.
