Review # 1 was written on 2012-10-11 00:00:00 Stacey Simmons Helmut Newton never took a photo out of focus and he was quite proud of that. I had a great time at the Helmut Newton Photography Museum in Berlin and he remains a very striking photographer. A lot of people don't like him - i.e. some feminists - but I don't see exploitation of any kind in his photos (unlike I do with Terry Richardson), I see strong women who are never propped up by any man. If anything the men become more objects of desire than the women. An incredibly interesting and well curated selection of photos.
