It was this book that kindled the fire in me - to learn physics passionately. It's a very beautifully written book. It deals with all the basic and elementary theories of physics, which one needs to know, if one wants to move towards more advanced theories. It's actually a basic text, and uses only basic calculus to formulate and convey the theories. The approach taken by the author is really admirable. He starts with the qualitative discussions and then come to the use of mathematics, to convey difficult ideas easily and effortlessly, which make topics easy to understand, and at the same time make reading very enjoyable. NOTE : It contains Newtonian Mechanics, Waves & Oscillations, Thermodynamics, Light & Optics, Electricity & Magnetism. And don't expect hardcore advanced differential forms of equation in the text. (It's not an advanced text).

This is a good starter book for everyone that wants to study physics at a more serious level. It's also good for anyone who is instructing non-physicist students in physics. The graphics and thoroughly done examples help a lot in laying down the foundation. Definitely recommended to beginners.
