Review # 1 was written on 2011-10-04 00:00:00 Charles Guy I've this book to teach a topics class in Information Technology. It is very well structured with direct attention to major issues relative to outsourcing from different perspectives: buyer and vendor. Authors, however, continuously use complicated terms in places where it could have been much easier to say the same thing. This could be a book for managers, senior officials or lawyers who are very well aware of various industry-specific words but not for those are novices in the area. I wonder why the authors choose 'Essentials' in their title. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-06-08 00:00:00 Christina Wright I did not read this cover to cover, but the chapters I did read were very informative and not too dry. It seems like a useful reference guide for human resources questions that new managers might have. Since I plan to go into management in the next year or so I intend to keep this textbook for quick advice on legalities and considerations when writing up an employee improvement plan, what to do if employees form a union and how to frame negotiations. |
