Review # 1 was written on 2020-08-03 00:00:00 Henry Reynolds This book is about taking an active role in your Healthcare so that you are certain that you are receiving the best and most appropriate care. Even though you doctor went to medical school, it is still your body and your health, and it is crucial to be educated about the System (Hospitals, Doctors, and Insurance). Reading this book could one day save your life. In particular I found the following pages of information to be of particular interest: Pages 28-29 methods in which a surgeon msy 'unethically' demish his recorded mortality rate for surgeries - Page 33 websie in which you can look up each state's medical board site. (fsmb.org) At the state's medical board site search under professional misconduct to be sure that your doctor isn't listed -Page 59 AOS (Attending-oriented service) with explanation that you should avoid getting admitted in this fashion. Pages 64-66 intervenous lines and catheters - Page 67 pulmonary embolism - Pages 106-107 people in elderly care homes - Page 114-115 Dialysis patients being treated with Epogen - Page 185 Estrogen - Page 190-192 Perscription medicine. |
