Smith's sections are worth 4 stars as they are more comprehensive than Oaklander's, and actually discuss the relationship between modern metaphysics and modern physics. Oaklander doesn't really do that, so none of the hypotheses he discusses is particularly convincing and I found my views unchanged and unchallenged by his dialogues.

This book is a fundamental must-read if you are pursuing a life in Physics or Philosophy. I took a class at Western Michigan University around the turn of the millennia taught by Dr. Quentin Smith, and "Time, Change and Freedom" was one of our texts. Dr. Smith is a brilliant thinker, a stellar Professor and a dedicated, driven man.
