Chock full of amusing anecdotes and thought-provoking insight, this book does a great job of equipping the laymen or burgeoning scientist for a foray into one of the most prevalent branches of biology: immunology. Side note: The chapter on AIDS is especially interesting given the timing of this book's publication--not so much for its technical merit, but as a primary window into the theories and views generated during the emergence of this deadly disease. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-05-23 00:00:00 Mike Kondi While there is much new in immunology since tyhis book was published, for a lay person to understand their own immune system this is one of the very best. His dry sense of humor makes for an easy read of difficult material. |
