Review # 2 was written on 2012-04-25 00:00:00 Criss Ceci This was one of my favourite books. Even though my copy is old and somehow got mildewed, I can't bring myself to replace it with a newer copy. Oh well. Hero loves the story and the pictures. She especially likes to find the apples in each illustration and help me read by filling in the "A is for ___", etc. It's a good bedtime story because although it starts out fairly adventurous, it wraps up at the end in a soothing way and so it doesn't get her all riled up with excitement just before she needs to sleep. I like how letters that have more than one sound (C, for example) get used in more than one word (cider, and cart, and cherry). Also the illustrations are beautiful.
