Review # 1 was written on 2010-11-23 00:00:00 Robert Harris The first story, "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Kristine Rolofson was easily the best in the book. It's a fun story of a group of travelers being stranded at the h's house during a snowstorm, when the h and H meet. I would gladly give it four stars alone. The second and third stories are why I gave this book one star. In the second story, "One-Night-Stand Baby" by Bobby Hutchinson, the h's sister, Faye, is an unpleasant shrew with a horrible attitude,(married to a nice guy, who is a bit of a doormat). She could definitely use the services of the H, (a psychiatrist)! In the third story, "Baby Jane Doe" by Judith Arnold, an abandoned baby is found by the h, who cares for and intends to adopt the infant. This is all good, but there's one scene where the h breastfeeds the baby to quiet her --even though the h has no milk! This scene made me a little queasy, and almost put me off the rest of an otherwise decent story. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-04-06 00:00:00 James Wampler I liked the three stories. Baby It's Cold Outside was my favorite The cowboy, Will, and Phoebe, the widow, with a baby boy who wants the "cow, cow!", the cowboy, snowed in with a bus load of stranded travelers in her B&B. One-Night-Stand forced Dr. Conrad Banfield to face the fact that Abigail Martin was telling the truth when she confronted him with the news of her pregnancy. Now he is carrying for his baby son, Robert, due to a drunk hitting Abigail and landing her in the hospital. Baby Jane Doe Terry Galvin catches her fiancé with his pants down with his hostess! She leaves and discovers an abandoned baby left in the alley beside her apartment building. Detective Allen Finn is the officer sent to investigate. |
