Review # 1 was written on 2012-02-27 00:00:00 Donald Walley Christmas Yet to Come by Lynda Trent was pretty good. It was a short and sweet story. I liked it and would read it again. This was more of a passing the time kind of book. I would read it again, but I wouldn't search it out. A Season of Joy by Caryn Cameron was pretty good too. I liked the fact that the main character had doubts, it showed that we usually do. I also liked she was big enough to admit it and correct/apologize about it too. I liked the hope that was present and reborn. This was a touching and showed the war from both sides and why what and how it happened the way it did. I would read this again but more for passing the time. Fortune's Gift by DeLoras Scott was really good. I liked the bantering and betting and brother/sister rivalry. I liked the betting and the 'what's going to happen next' scenes. I would definitely read this book again. Out of all the books in this anthology, this one was my favorite. Overall, I would read this anthology again, but more for passing the time and not searching it out. Enjoy |
Review # 2 was written on 2019-04-25 00:00:00 Tisch Didier To continue my little romance kick, I chose this gem. It contains three short stories by three different authors. The first takes place in Victorian London and deals with a couple who had once been engaged to be married, and now must decide whether they want to try again. The second is staged in Berwyn, PA during the American Revolution, where a single mother falls in love with an American soldier. The last one's backdrop is San Diego, CA in 1889, in which a spoiled rich girl loses a bet and must marry the town's favorite ladies man. All three of these stories were well written and made it difficult to put the book down. The first story is endearing, the second one is exciting, and the third one is bittersweet - all with happy endings. |
