Twenty-eight year old, divorced magazine editor Heroine is used as a smokescreen date by her twenty year old employee to fool his overbearing CEO uncle. Uncle meets the heroine and between slut-shaming and sugar mommy slurs, makes it clear he is interested in a fling with her. Heroine is attracted back but doesn't want to be another notch on his bedpost, especially as he seems to be in a long-standing relationship with his personal assistant. Heroine and hero do eventually fall into bed but the next day, he ghosts her and she finds out he went to the US with his girlfriend. All is resolved when heroine realizes a bouquet of roses and sweet love letter from hero to heroine had been "misplaced" by a jealous colleague. Hero and heroine avow their love for each other in this bland episode of Harlequinlandia.

I found the book to compiled on lies and suspicions and not enough facts. It's what turned me off from it big time. When the heroine meets the hero, the hero thinks the heroine is actually dating his nephew, which isn't true. Time after time the hero confronts her with more and more untrue suspicions. Overall they got worse and worse until we find out the hero has a huge thing for our heroine and will stop at nothing to have her, including abusing her emotionally.. It was a mess.
