[ Nick and Genna work together. He secretly loves her, she sees him as a brother. This is how he feels about her -- [I'm probably gonna get my review pulled for quoting the book so much, but it's easier than paraphrasing.] He indulged in casual relationships, such as the one he'd almost had tonight, because it wasn't fair to date women with commitment in mind. He was already committed. Had been for four years, ever since he fell completely, crazily and hopelessly in love with his fiance's bridesmaid, Genna Monroe. [...] He'd cancelled his wedding because of her... Nick's in love with Genna, feels committed to her, he bones other women. And that's okee dokee by me. She doesn't see him that way and he has "needs", so more power to him. I just don't want to read a blow by blow, as it were, of him doing some other chick (yeah, I know, premise of the book, I'm stupid, yadda, yadda, I get it). I do think the two quotes above are, for the most part, sweet and romantic and that's what kept me reading further. Sooo... The next morning, Genna tells Nick she overheard two people going at it in the garden last night and how, as she listened, she was fantasizing that the "mystery" guy (she doesn't know it was Nick) was doing those things to her. Nick's happy cuz up 'til then he'd been thinking, "oh, shit, she heard me doing another woman and now I've blown any chance I might have had with her". There's a costume party that night and "mystery" guy puts the moves on her. They go to a hotel room. He has her role-playing a stripper...in the dark (he can't see, but he also can't be seen) and the song she's thinking of while she strips is one I hate (Joe Cocker's "You Can Keep Your Hat On"). I thought the whole thing was awkward and not sexy at all. Not compared to Nick and the other woman in the garden in the moonlight. "I'm going to take off my panties now." "How much for them?" She was so surprised she forgot to play her role. She stopped dead, the music in her head silenced. "Huh?" "For your panties. How much?" Did strippers do this kind of thing? She had no idea, but she respected an exotic dancer's right to make an honest profit. "Fifty bucks." When they finally get down to business, no pretty words about how her skin tastes or sexy talk about what he's going to do to her. Oh, wait! He does tell her she's beautiful. That's it. He can't see her--but she's beautiful. How hot is that? Continuing on... There are scenes of Nick and Genna working together. Like Lois Lane and Clark Kent. He knows, she doesn't. Hehehe. "Mystery" guy and Genna have sex again (still in the dark)... "Your ass is as beautiful as your breasts" You know, I'm beginning to think Genna must not taste very good and maybe has skin like sandpaper cuz I'm not seeing any words like 'skin tasting like peaches' or 'thighs like warm silk' like he said to the lady he was foreplaying with in the garden. Don't need to have a light on to say nice things about how someone feels and tastes. See what I'm doing? I keep comparing what Nick said and did with the other woman to what he said and did to Genna. It's distracting me, taking me away from the rest of the book. Hey, at least he told both of them to spread their legs wider, so that's something, I suppose. *smirk* And further on... More anonymous sex in the dark. Then Nick, as himself, asks her out, which is confusing her cuz he's trying to change their relationship. And even though Genna is boinking "mystery" guy, she finds herself attracted to Nick. And still further.... More sex with "mystery" guy. Genna is wondering if she's a slut cuz she keeps having sex with some anonymous dude every Friday night, but she's also starting to fall in love with him. Nick and Genna go out on their date ... "I'm seeing someone else." [...] "Who is he?" As if he didn't know. [...] "It's no one you know," she muttered. Like hell, he wanted to roar. "Is it serious?" She glanced up and he saw the confusion in her eyes. "I don't know. I maybe." He was so jealous he wanted to commit violence. Except the man he was jealous of was himself. There ought to be some kind of spectacular booby prize for what he'd just done. He'd stolen his own woman. More scenes of Genna and Nick together. They kiss. Seems familiar, but like Lois Lane, Genna doesn't have a clue. Genna now loves Nick and decides to give up "mystery" guy. Then the shit hits the fan. I actually laughed out loud during the scene when she finds out. Finally... Forgiveness, make-up sex and HEA. So 1 star for a book that would've gotten more if not for that first scene. Yeah, yeah, I'm being a jerk about it. Like I said, I hate those H/OW sex scenes, and this one didn't have to be so damned detailed. (hide spoiler)]

Aunque cuesta creer que la protagonista ande tan a oscuras ;) hasta prcticamente el final, es un libro entretenido y de fcil lectura.
