Grace Montgomery is trying to figure out who she is away from her overbearing father and the Montgomery money. To develop her independence she stops using her trust fund, moves to New York, gets a job, and stops talking to her family. Even her grandmother Emma and brother Logan barely get more than a 'Hi, I'm fine'. In the spirit of snooping and matchmaking, Emma hires PI Ben to keep an eye on Grace for awhile and report back on if she's really 'fine'. Sparks fly, Ben has a moral and ethical debate, chemistry and Grace win. Ben and Grace have good chemistry, and Grace is big into being open and honest with Ben. But I wasn't as fond of Grace as I wanted to be-for all her open talk she was also closed up with people she claimed to love. I never really figured out how keeping the family members she actually likes out of her life was supposed to help Grace develop independence and personal identity. Grace also has her moments of stubborn stupidity, like when letting someone help would actually be about safety and not about proving she can handle anything. Sometimes it is ok to let the professionals do their job. I'd have liked to see more emotional or personal growth on her part. Ben was well written as the torn love interest- take the money, which he needs for his mom, or tell Emma to forget the job? Follow his feelings for Grace and be honest when he knows honesty will probably get him kicked out of her life? An ok story over all, although Grace was a bit frustrating at times. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

ARC for honest review with no compensation Received from BookSprout Simply Sensual is book 3 in the Simply series by Carly Phillips which has been updated and rereleased. Up next is Ben Callahan, P.I. hired by Emma Montgomery to check up on her granddaughter, Grace Montgomery who hasnt touched her trust fund and little contact with her grandmother. What happens when Ben and Grace connect on all levels, break their own rules and are hiding secretsonly time will tell
