"The Unwilling Mistress" is the story of March and Will. So sweet! Please ignore the title of this book, this book is definitely not that. It begins when the hero travels on a mission to buy the Calendar family's farm for redevelopment. By sheer luck, the person he meets turns out to be the owner of the farm, and he gets offered to rent their cottage. The heroine and her sister are short on funds, and decide to rent out their spare room. What they soon realize is that the man has not just been dishonest, but could also be working for the man who wants to uproot their lives! There was a lot of like in this book- the heroine was a feisty cat, whose meow was louder than her scratching. Quick to lose her temper but also to forgive, she was fiercely protective of all those she loved, including her land and her siblings. The hero was a smitten goner the moment he met her, and though initially involved in minute deception, he soon comes clean and spends the book getting snarled and bitten by the adorkable heroine. All in all, a very nice love story! I am gonna catch up on January and May's books soon! Safe 3.5/5

This book may as well have been titled 'The Happy Kitten' or 'Dawn of the Zombie'. Why, you ask? Because both of those titles would have been just as accurate as the one it had. Meaning, not at all. The book is basically about a pretty decent architect who falls in love with the girl whose family farm his rich friend wishes to buy. The H is to be the one to design the new resort that will go there. From the title I expected him to involve her in some sort of blackmail scheme to keep the family farm. Nope. And they didn't even get together until the very end, so there was no mistressing to be found either. I gave it two stars instead of 1, because it wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't what I thought I was getting when I looked at the label on the tin.
