There was an awful lot of dumb in this one, particularly the fact that Dani's company managed to get to within a month of breaking ground on their new resort despite the fact that the stretch of beach is apparently super-important to a presumably endangered or threatened species and the local state senator (I think? It isn't precisely specified.) made protecting the coast one of the major elements of his platform. And yet, Dani's company still got through all of the building permissions and red tape and environmental impact reports and lawsuits and whatnot that led up to that point. It's also pretty darn frustrating that we really never see Dani be the brilliant businesswoman she supposedly is; but maybe I'm expecting too much. Dani's decisions at the end managed to save the book for me, but I was annoyed and/or frustrated with the characterization for most of it (for further details, see all the updates I made while reading).

Wow, this book shocked me. I expect so much better from Helen Bianchin. This was just absolutely horrible. The heroine went beyond TSTL....If I were the Hero I would have just walked away... actually more like run away.... thanking my lucky starts that I wasn't tied to someone like that for the rest of my life! The story line goes...they meet, quickly fall in love, happily married for three months, when the "ex" mistress walks in saying she has just conceived his child. Obviously hubby passionately denies it, but our heroine refuses to believe him and trashes everything by walking out the door. Now did she ever hear of DNA testing???????? In the meantime her father dies and mandates through his Will that in order for her to inherit his firm, she needs to reconcile with her husband for one year. Because her Dad (smart man) knows that the husband is innocent and that they still love each other. The whole book is about their tumultuous reconciliation and how she continues to discredit the hero. Every three pages was a sexual scene with heroine remorse and self recriminations for falling into bed. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the H would even want her. Do not read......
