3.25 stars I read a book by this author which featured Charlie, the St Valentine and this is the book where he first appears. This wasn't a bad read at all. The heroine was duped by a married man but has slowly built her confidence and life. The hero runs a construction company and is the widowed dad of two. Charlie works to bring these two together with the help of a lama. Their attraction is instant and their is a lot of Insta-luv as well but what serves as a stumbling block is that the hero is done having kids and thinks the heroine should let go off the dream of wanting one and just fit into his family. To be honest I saw the POV of both but also felt the hero was being selfish in outright dismissing and dissing the heroine's need to have a child. I do believe it is not imperative to have a biological child to love a kid (I have family who have adopted and adore their child), but to not even want to discuss it was a bit umm. Of course these two work through their issues and get their HEA. Another thing that bugged me was that the hero's dead wife wasn't talked about at all, how she died, about the hero's and their relationship. Not a great read but not bad either.

T240. 2/89 Roxie Lowell, city clerk and house sitter to a llama, takes Charlie home with her. She's worried about the elderly man and can't let him stay out in the cold. He claimed to be St. Valentine and that she met the man, Hank Craddock, she will marry on St. Valentine's Day. Love, of course, doesn't happen without some angst.
