Review # 1 was written on 2012-01-29 00:00:00 Jimmie D King It has it's gaps, but I enjoyed it. It's another tortured hero and his prot�g�e. It brings it down to the basics as to what is devotion and what it entails. I mean if a guy makes his whole existence all about you then it means everything.

Review # 2 was written on 2016-01-16 00:00:00 ARDEN BRADEN What St. Margarets said. This is super effective in imagery and writing, but not a how-to for real life relationships, ladies. Well, maybe, but only if you are aiming for the perfect manual for masochists in training. The hero was such a mean bastard. There isn't a skillet large enough. Don't recall when 'Mary Sue' became shorthand for an absurdly perfect heroine. Kind of fun to think Lowell was playing with flipping that trope by making the horrible mother, Mary Sue, be anything but perfect. It was a bit jarring.
