[ After just returning from their honeymoon the heroine thinks the hero has committed bigamy when his first wife shows up at their flat. She doesn't wait to find out what's really going on. She flees without leaving a note. The hero doesn't look for her for two years. He also says he didn't know why heroine left when he actually went with his first wife to the court of records to make sure the marriage had been registered as annulled. So he knew the first wife (whom he married so she could stay in England and study - they never consummated their marriage) had been to the flat, but he couldn't put two and two together. Best moment of romance-reading life: I discovered a romance novel SET IN ICELAND and with a hero who is a GLACIOLOGIST. OOOOOOOoooooooooOOOOOOOOoooooooooh my God! So the cover is super dorky and has NOTHING to do with the book. Fine. So...the conflict is a super dorky Big Misunderstanding and the hero's subsequent reaction is ridiculous. Is it bad to say that I liked the secondary characters better than the hero and heroine? By far the best thing in this book is the geology, photography descriptions, and details about Iceland. The one sort of cool crazy thing that happened--when the hero tackled the heroine before a geysir eruption killed her--was one of my favorite things EVER in a romance novel. Totally crazy! AND GEOLOGY-RELATED DRAMA! Looooooooove it! Unfortunately, the romance and plot are pretty pathetic. However, because ICELAND and GEOLOGY and TACKLE GEYSIR SCENE, I'm still giving this 3-stars. And now I want to go back to Iceland!
