Awwwwwwwwwwwwww! How can someone not like this book when the first thing the heroine thinks when she sees (the photo of) the artist is: "Must be gay..." immediately to be answered by: "No he ain't" by the H himself as he walks in on her =) hahaha!

This is a great read from Australian legend Valerie Parv. The heroine Carrie is fighting not only her own inclinations but her fears that she will end up losing out in any relationship with an impecunious cartoonist. It didn't help that her first impression of him was formed in tatty clothes, a three day beard growth when he'd had no sleep for days and was nearly out on his feet. And she let him kiss her. IN fact she decides he would make a great lesson for her sister who is planning to give up university for the life of an artist. That was her second mistake. Roger is an adorable hunk of a guy with a few hangups of his own. How he is going to convince Carrie to take a risk on him is great fun as he uses his daily cartoon to help her see things in a different perspective. The ups and downs of this relationship are rather sweet and it's nice that we get the hero pretty up front about his feelings early in the piece. It all comes down to how the heroine is going to deal with her own issues, and also one pretty significant secret the hero is keeping from her. A very nice story and a satisfying ending.
