If you are a fan of aviation history, you ought to know that the Poles were among the more advanced designers, especially between the early 20s after their war with Russia, up through 1939 when they were essentially rendered irrelevant for the next half century by tyrants of one stripe or another. Jerzy B. Cynk assembles an encyclopedia of virtually all types and designed, prototypes and production aircraft, that were ever even thought of in Poland. A thorough treatment by the lauded historical expert in Polish aviation, this book is a gem for those interested in the field. Its a rather hard book to find, I first discovered it in a library, then finally acquired my own copy. The downside of the book is a lack of photographs and drawings. Becuase it is encyclopedic in nature, much of the entries lack photos or drawings. This is by nature the limitation of a survey-like study. Those entries which have drawings, three-views and photos are frustratingly spare and simple. However, limitations considered, the book is the single most complete reference for the subject of Polish aviation.

The best and most comprehensive book on German aircrafts and missiles of the Second World War.
