Investigating mass phenomena in a high school? Again? We just had that in the last volume! In fact, most of this feels really repeated from the previous installment (even the fortune-telling bit is the same), with the only noteworthy difference being the character of Yasuhara. Yasuhara is interesting but somewhat inexplicable. There is an author note that he was a character from the novel (I hadn't realized this was a novel as well), so perhaps he makes more sense if you've read that. For some reason instead of completing this story, the last section of book 4 is a different story about a church with some orphans who have been possessed. This story was actually better, though, so I won't complain. Interested in finding out what Lin's issue with Mai is, given how little interaction they've had.

This volume was entertaining, it was light and fun. I think that Monk is my favourite character. I love the new character that was introduced in this volume, he's great and I hope to see him in future volumes. I can't believe that Lin had to deal with all of the father business but it was hilarious. I can't wait to read the next volume. "5 men in a 6-mat room...Holy cow. This is like a field trip for school athletes." Mai is a girl who loves to talk about ghost stories with her friends. When she comes across a house with a camera in it, she is curious. She knows that it is haunted and decides to go inside. By accident, she breaks the camera and injures a man who turns out to be the assistant of a ghost hunter. This ghost hunter, nicknamed as Naru, forces Mai to work for him in order to her to repay for the loss of his camera and for his injured assistant. Mai goes through so many spooky ghost adventures and learns more about herself. "A perfect harmony of the smell of something that's gone bad and a drainage ditch that's starting todry out." I am loving Yasuhara's character, he is not only hilarious, but he's charming as well. Naru is his usual self, he's super smart and arrogant. Mai is great, she works hard, is hilarious and cares about her friends. Monk is a brotherly figure and in this volume, it showed how good he was with kids. This kinda influences me to think he is a fatherly figure. I don't know, but I think he's cool and he looks young, I don't know why he keeps calling himself old. John is great, he is a kind, pure soul. Masako is great and I love how she bickers with Miko. Lin is a protective guy who isn't patient, but without him in the manga, it won't be entertaining. "But I also like Shibuya-san. He's beautiful. But, I like you even more." I can't wait to read more and I'll be off. These mangas are taking longer to read than I thought!
