As much as I adore Eva Rice, I had very low expectations for this book. Sorry! I should've trusted you more, Eva! I actually quite liked this. As usual, Eva conjured the setting of her novel so well it was like being there. I was perhaps only really invested in the story of Misty, but I liked how her and her sister's stories overlapped at the end.

A beautiful YA, which covers families with hidden secrets, best friends, gorgeous locations, horse riding in cornwall (is there anywhere better?) and first love. After quite simply DEVOURING My first Eva Rice book, Standing Room Only. I porformed a search and rescue mission to lay my hands on anything she had touched! I stumbled across this hidden gem in my local library one summer when i, myself was a YA. I love the premise of the book, Eva's discriptions made me feel like I was there in the hot summer with her characters. I would even go as far as booking my first horse riding holiday with my sister down in Cornwall, however it wasn't Davvys yard we stayed at! More like a holiday park with horse riding further down the lane! I thought India and Misty were incredibly independent 17yo's, this was a first love story mixed with a duel storyline of old love, secrets and family. It was an incredibly sweet story and perfect for a YA, growing up graduating from school into a grown up world.
