Review # 1 was written on 2010-11-02 00:00:00 Mindy Herrera A clear, concise, and efficient introduction to the full corpus of Giddens's work. I started reading it in the middle of my re-reading of Giddens' The Constitution of Society. I am getting together materials for a course titled "Agents, Structures, Action." What you lose in Kaspersen's version is the nuance, complexity, and the indirect narrative loops that reading Giddens in the original gets you. But what you gain is a picture of an overall frame. Chapters from this book might serve well as a supplements to primary texts. |
