This Volume from the Bedford Anthology was okay. I was glad to learn as I read that the book was more inclusive with the writing as it included writings from POC early on in literary history. I just am glad to be finished with it so I can graduate.

Good collection of poetry and stories. The issue is with the informative content. The chapters are divided by movement with an introductory section. These sections include history, important people, and a description of the movement. At least, they try to. The history information is overwhelming and mostly unnecessary. The timeline at the end of each is cute, but hard to read and not really helpful. The descriptions of each movement were difficult to follow (I think two sections completely forgot to explain what the movement is). Would have benefited from shorter introductions that were clear cut and designed as reference material (e.g. charts or lists) that can be used as one reads the material. My recommendation is to find the table of contents online and just follow that for finding poetry and stories.
