Review # 1 was written on 2020-10-13 00:00:00 James Bowles This is a very balanced, insightful and well-researched portrait of a fascinating woman. The iconic opera diva as well as the vulnerable and complex woman underneath is thoroughly explored. Anne Edwards is a very talented biographer. I was already a fan of her books and when I found out she had written this biography of Maria Callas, one of my favorite singers, I had to read it and the book actually exceeded my expectations.

Review # 2 was written on 2009-07-14 00:00:00 Robert Williamson Maria Callas, A true tragic Greek. I was totally absorbed into the life of this famous diva. She was loved, adored by many, but sought the love of one man only, who consistently betrayed her. lonely, lovely Maria. The diva lives on!
