Review # 1 was written on 2010-08-11 00:00:00 Nicole Ragen Arganda I fully believe this book reached the level of insanity, plot holes, and unintentional hilarity that the first in the series, "Scent", attained. Although "Scent" holds a dear place in my heart because it was my introduction to this writer and these bizarre and unbelievable characters (and because I had never read a worse book in my life), I think this book comes close to surpassing it. I didn't think it was possible, but there you go. There were crazy gems on almost every page. Characters changed name in mid-page then changed back again, circus school made it's reappearance as a hobby for our protagonist, characters are introduced and given a back story only to never be heard from again, a character inexplicably aged three years when his friend did not, and the list goes on and on. If you want to read a great book, don't look here. This book is atrocious. The dialogue is preposterous, the plot makes no sense, and the characters resemble no people who have ever lived. But...if you want to read a series so bad that it will make you double over with laughter and will compel you to read entire paragraphs aloud to your friends and family because you can't believe what you are reading and you want someone to laugh along with you, *this* series is for you!!! |
