Review # 1 was written on 2013-03-04 00:00:00 Steven Richard The author’s purpose of writing this book is to tell the life of Andrew Jackson through his presidency. She also covered his childhood and education. The style this author used to write the book was informational because it told about his life and accomplishments. The author wanted to tell people about Andrew Jackson and his presidency. The author told her readers about the road to presidency, and what struggles Jackson took to get to the White house. The author Rebecca Stefoff’s point of view was to show and inform her readers of the accomplishments of his lifetime. The theme of the book, Andrew Jackson was to inform people about his life. The theme was very clear though out the entire book, because that was what the book was about. The book was informational. So the theme was to show the readers about his struggles dealing with the road of presidency because he was running for president and then he had to deal with family issues on top of the presidency. The style of the book is narration, because it is telling a story through a series of events that describes what happened, usualy in chronological order. It tells his life in chronological order from his early childhood to his death. It describes the main events in his life like his presidency, birth, and being a lawyer. This was very effective because it showed the events that were most important inhis life and help the reader understand them more. I liked this book a lot because it was very interesting. It kept me interested throughout the book, and it kept me wanting to read more. I would not change anything about this book, except for some of the information was unneeded or stated more than once. Yes, I believe that this book was similar to another book I have read in the past. The book I read in the past was called Abraham Lincoln. These two books were very much a like because they both told about the road to presidency and other presidential accomplishments that both presidents had had.
